Lower Back Pain -2nd most common nerve aliment



If you have lower back pain, you are not alone!

It is predicated that nearly everyone if there lives will have an episode of lower back pain. Back pain is the second most common nerve-caused aliment in the US. The Headache is number one.

Fortunately most pain in the back goes away in a few days. The most common pain is caused by muscle strain. Other reasons for back pain include herniated disk, degenerated disk, osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis.

The back is a remarkable structure, a combination of human anatomy designed to not only be flexible, but to also provide strength and structure. However, it is susceptible to injury, especially if not taken care of!

Back pain can be divided into two parts.

Acute or short term Last a few days to a few weeks. It is usually caused by trauma to the back. A sports injury, gardening, a sudden jolt from a car accident - any action that may leave the muscle injured or strained. The symptoms my range form shooting pains, to a stabbing pain to a simple muscle ache. Also the pain or injury may affect other areas, such as the legs. Some acute pain may turn more serious if left untreated.

Chronic back pain is measured by duration — pain that last more than 3 months is considered chronic. The cause for chronic back pain can be difficult to determine and may get worse over time.

Fortunately, most episodes of back pain will heal with time: approximately 50% of patients will feel relief from low back pain within two weeks, and approximately 90% within three months, regardless of the treatment. In fact, treatments vary considerably and many forms of back pain treatment may work well for one person, but not another. Back pain management requires research, knowledge, and trial and error.
